Overview
HeyPrompt - AI Prompt Optimizer ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights
regarding your data.
Summary: Your prompts are sent to our servers for AI-powered optimization.
We do not store your prompts permanently. All processing is done in real-time and discarded immediately.
Information We Collect
The Extension collects and processes the following types of information:
- Prompt Text (Temporarily Processed): When you click the optimize button,
the text you've entered in supported AI chat interfaces (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Poe,
Perplexity, Copilot) is sent to our API server for processing. This data is analyzed
by AI to provide optimization suggestions and is NOT stored permanently.
- Usage Statistics (Stored Locally): We track how many prompts you've
optimized. This count is stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers.
How We Process Your Prompts
- You click the "✦" button to optimize your prompt
- Your prompt text is sent via encrypted HTTPS to our server
- Our server uses Google's Gemini AI to analyze and optimize your prompt
- The optimized result is sent back to your browser
- Your original prompt is immediately discarded from our server's memory
Third-Party Services
The Extension uses Google Gemini AI (via Vercel serverless functions) to
process your prompts. Google's AI services process your data according to
Google's Privacy Policy.
The processed data is used solely to generate optimization suggestions.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do NOT log or store your prompts
- We do NOT collect personal identification information
- We do NOT track your browsing history
- We do NOT sell any data to third parties
Local Storage
The Extension uses Chrome's built-in storage API to save:
- Your prompt optimization count (local statistics)
- No other data is stored locally
Permissions Explained
- Host Permissions (Specific AI Sites): The extension only runs on
supported AI chat websites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Poe, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot).
It cannot access any other websites.
- Storage Permission: Used to save your usage statistics locally on your device.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Uninstall the Extension at any time, which will remove all locally stored data
- Choose not to use the optimization feature
- Contact us with questions about your data
Data Security
All data transmission between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
We do not maintain any databases of user prompts or personal information.
Children's Privacy
This Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes
by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
